My name is Maria Shuttleworth. I’m a 27-year old half British, half Russian design nerd living in London.
Armed with an MA in UX Design, I've spent the past five years in the design realm. By day, I'm creating end-to-end experiences for Kafka and data users in Conduktor. By night, I'm at my art workstation making jewelry or illustrating.
I'm especially interested in working storytelling into my design work, blending critical thinking & eye-catching visuals to create unforgettable experiences.

08.2024 - present
My most recent project has been working on Conduktors' new product Trust; their data quality hub. I have helped shape the direction of this product, both in design and strategy, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and co-founders.
Outside of Trust I have been responsible for introducing Alerting and Notifications, and am currently working on a navigation re-design. I also love nerding out on Design Systems so have been owning that in Figma.

As a Product Designer at DataCamp, my primary focus is on the Certification product, complemented by my role as the Design System Designer where I ensure design consistency across the website. My key responsibilities encompass enhancing the Certification product and leading the development of a new Jobs platform from its initial stages. I have also played a significant role in the advancement of the Learn and Workspace products.
10.2020 - present
Alongside my position at DataCamp, I have worked in my spare time on passion projects, as well as with various clients worldwide to design webpages, apps, social media marketing assets, as well as custom illustration and logo design projects.

This was part of a 6-week collaborative university project. I worked in a team to organise and design an information archive for the Hoffmann Centre. We used a combination of web design and AR to make an effective way to navigate through large amounts of information at once.
